Rip Rap War will be hosting glorious boat melee combat for both the heavy & rapier fields!

Rules for Boat Combat:

Letters of Marque and PrivateersEach Barony will be hiring, through agreed upon terms, individuals to act as their Privateers, who will then hire fighters, to act as additional naval forces to assist in securing their claim of Rip Rap Island. Their Excellencies have decreed that Letters of Marque will be offered to Peers of the Realm, Landed Coronets, Shire Officers, Baronial Officers, and Kingdom Officers to commission them as Privateers .

Each Privateer will be responsible for furnishing their own ship (wooden for Heavy Fighters and plastic (made to look period) for Rapier Fighters) and marine fighting forces. Each ship can only support a maximum of 3 marines, and only one person may sponsor a ship. The sponsor DOES NOT need to sail on the ship (I.E. Master Snuffy can sponsor the SS Minnow and 3 marines, but Master Snuffy can sit on the shore and preserve themselves from bloodshed if they so desire). Each ship can be decorated as the sponsor sees fit and at the end of the day, any ship wishing to enter, will be awarded a Best Dressed Ship acknowledgement.

HEAVY ACTIVITIES

Heavy Fighting Schedule

10-10:30 am Opening Court, Declaration of Sides, Issuance of Letters of Marque

10:30 - 10:50 am Inspections/Authorizations

11-11:50 am Battle of the Bay. TYD versus Marinus. Both side fight for naval supremacy and to form a beachhead. Unlimited res battle. 

Scope: Both TYD and Marinus have 3 ships dressed in their colors. Prior to battle, TYD and Marinus can offer Letters of Marque to sponsored ships as Privateers; each Barony can sponsor as many Privateers as they can hire, this can be done prior to the event. All ships have a max 3 person capacity.  Rip Rap island in the center will be fought over, with Baronial flags to be raised. Island control will be counted randomly with the most points winning. 

12-12:30 pm Lunch Break, pickups as available .

12:30-1:00 PM Baronial Rapier Champion tournament. (Heavy champions tourney will not conflict, so Excellencies may review both tourneys)

1:10-2:00 PM Baronial Heavy Champion tournament. Format to be discussed prior to with Their Excellencies. 

2:10-3:00 PM Battle of the Woolen Fortress. Having established their forces on the island the two Baronies clash at the walls of the old fortress upon the island.

Scope: 3 Battles at the barrier, TYD versus Marinus. Best 2 out of 3 wins. All fighters must declare for a side!

3:00 PM Plank Bear Pit. narrow plank to be fought over, single combat. Falling off the plank counts as a death. Most victories wins.

4:00 PM Field Closes

5:00 PM Evening Court

RAPIER ACTIVITIES

9-10:00 AM: Inspections/Authorizations by appointment only/Pickups until first activity

10-1030: Opening Court, Declaration of Sides, Issuance of Letters of Marque.

10:30-11:20 AM: Bear Pit tournament. Come and warm up those muscles! Tournament will begin at 10:30am sharp but you can join in at anytime. Most victories wins.

11:30-12:20 AM: Battle of the Bay I

Premise: The Baronies of Tir-Y-Don and Marinus have attempted diplomacy and now seek to use naval might to achieve what diplomats had failed. The fate of Rip Rap Island rests upon supremacy at sea and the resolve of the marshaled marines. 

Scope: Unlimited resurrection battle. Baronial force ships must ferry combatants to a center island where a mast with both Baronial colors will stand. Raising of the Baronial flag signals control of the island. Island control will be counted randomly with the most points winning. 

Rules: Both TYD and Marinus will begin with 3 ships dressed in their colors, TYD and Marinus ships have endless "lives" and cannot permanently be sunk. Prior to battle, TYD and Marinus can offer Letters of Marque to sponsored ships as Privateers; each Barony can sponsor as many Privateers as they can hire, this can be done prior to or the morning of the event. Privateers are limited to being sunk 3 times, the privateer sailors can then be picked up by Baronial Ships. All ships have a max 3 person capacity. Ship to ship fighting is allowed if boats are stationary. TYD and Marinus each have their own shore which serves as their res points. 

12:20-1 PM: Lunch Break, pickups as available 

1:00-2:00 PM Battle of the Bay II. 

Rules: Ships arranged in same battle manner as Battle of the Bay I, except no individual resurrections, ships that are sunk are lost to Davy Jones. Last fleet floating wins. Scenario will be run best 2 of 3. 

2:10-3:00 PM Plank Bear Pit. 1'x10' plank to be fought over. Single sword only or single dagger only. Falling off the plank counts as a death. Most victories wins.

3:00 to 3:59 PM: Field is open for pickups. 

4:00 PM Field Closed

5:00 PM Evening Court

ARCHERY ACTIVITIES 

Prepare for an awesome Boat themed and Nautical shoot! 
Come with plenty of arrows and plan to shoot all day!
There will be a clout shoot !

THROWN WEAPONS ACTIVITIES

Test the strength of your arm in a feat of throwing prowess and fun games on the thrown weapons range, prepared by our lovely Lady Rose and our Privateer Rizo the Rat! 

If you have your own weapons or any loaner gear to share please bring them, but there will weapons and be plenty of targets to throw at!
